In AD 62 there was a day,
A day when these important events were about to transpire!
Four men are sent out from Rome into the world with four epistles penned by Paul. No one truly knew how powerful this would be. I don’t think Rome comprehended how these writings by an unknown prisoner could effect the entire world. If they did I guarantee you they would have stopped those four men from leaving Rome.
The four men:
Epaphroditus carried the epistle to the Philippians.
Epaphras carried the epistle to the Colossians.
Onesimus, the runaway slave, carried the epistle to Philemon.
Tychicus carried the epistle to the Ephesians.
These four men carrying what came to be known as the prison epistles changed the world! They present the picture of Christ, the church, and the Christian life.
Ephesians is an absolute masterpiece!
As you read through it you will discover some great truths.
In Ephesians 1.3, about the heavenly realms.
In Ephesians 1.4, it stretches out horizontally, from before the foundation of the world
In Ephesians 1.10, to the end of time.
In Ephesians 4.9, it stretches out vertically, from the spiritual lower regions
In Ephesians 4.10 to the realms that are higher than all the heavens
But what is some of the most important truth is about how God sees us? Our identity is all wrapped up in these two words: IN CHRIST!
Things are written about us concerning God, calling us His masterpiece. Out of everything that God has created; out of everything that God has put His hand to, do you realize that the pinnacle of His creation is us?
We are the highest form of God’s expression in creation! That’s why he refers to us as His masterpiece. It says in the book of Ephesians that we have been chosen from the foundation of the world. Being ‘In Christ’ means you’re not just His creation, but a brand new adopted child of God!
Join us each Sunday as we study the Book of Ephesians and explore all that the Lord would like to reveal to us, His beloved.
